1. Original OEM Cartridges.

OEM cartridges are ‘official’ cartridges produced by printer manufacturers such as Canon, HP etc. These are the most expensive type of cartridge – you pay extra for the brand name! Unfortunately, some of the newer models of printer will only accept official OEM cartridges. SimplyInk stocks a full range of original OEM printer cartridges for all the major manufacturers.

Advantages:

  • Manufactured to the highest level of precision.
  • Highest print quality.
  • Lowest fail rate.

Disadvantages:

  • More expensive than other types of cartridge.
  • Recycled cartridges are much better for the environment!

2. Generic Cartridges.

Generic cartridges are a much cheaper alternative than OEM cartridges. They are designed to be compatible with popular brands of printers and are frequently of similar quality to official OEM cartridges, but are cheaper because they are not branded.

Advantages:

  • Low price.
  • Very good print quality, sufficient for all printing except photos.

Disadvantages:

  • Higher fail rate than OEM cartridges.
  • Not environmentally friendly.

3. Remanufactured Cartridges.

These are recycled cartridges – they have been collected from customers, refilled with ink and extensively tested, then re-sealed. They are often 40-50% cheaper than other types of cartridges and are the most environmentally friendly option.
